Peachtree City, GA – 05/29/10 – The Tavern on 74
Remedy is thrilled to be making our first performance at The Tavern on 74 in Peachtree City, GA. We’ve heard lots of great things about The Tavern, which has an established reputation for showcasing bands in Peachtree City. This will be our first ‘bar gig’ in Peachtree City so we’re really hoping to draw a great crowd of folks who live in the area.
The band has been working particularly hard recently learning new music and plan to bring the house down with outstanding material from The Who, Molly Hatchett, and Blackfoot, in addition to playing fan favorites from Rush, Zeppelin, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and lots more.
We’re looking forward to a great time at the Tavern on 74 and hope to see all our friends from Peachtree City when we show up and rock the house!

Passing the Torch
Remedy returns to the Fred on Friday, May 7th to officially kick off the venue’s 2010 ‘Open Mic’ night competition. As last year’s winner of the competition, we won’t be allowed to participate in this year’s competition but have been given the opportunity to get the crowd fired up in preparation for the rest of the evening’s participants. Showcasing a wide variety of local talent in all musical genre’s, the Fred will be hosting the annual event for the second year, and hopes to garner a tremendous amount of interest from local bands and residents. In addition to opening the event, we’ll also have the honor of serving as a guest judge as well.
Playing at the Fred was the highlight of 2009 for the band and we look forward to playing at the venue once again and passing the torch to another great local band. Here’s a recap of our 2009 performance at the Fred.

Bringing Back the Beard
Remedy has decided to assemble a medley from one of the most famous bearded rock and roll groups of all time; ZZ Top. Featuring three songs from the band, the medley kicks off with some killer guitar riffs in ‘Just Got Paid,’ transitions into ‘Waitin’ On The Bus,’ and finishes strong with ‘Jesus Just Left Chicago.’ The latter two songs naturally transition from one to the other but Remedy decided to add ‘Just Got Paid’ to the mix as the prominent guitar lick at the beginning of the song was just too good to pass up. It’s a heck of a lot of fun to play and Tim, as usual, nails the guitar parts as Andy and Jon chime in perfectly with their respective instruments.

Big fans of the group and their music, Remedy can regularly be heard playing a few other ZZ Top songs on any given night including ‘Sharp Dressed Man’ and ‘La Grange.’ I don’t know if we’ll be growing the beards anytime soon but you’ll surely hear us pay tribute to bearded boys from ZZ Top during one of our next gigs out. We certainly hope you enjoy it!
