Birdies Wings
It was a special evening for Remedy as we made our debut at Birdies Wings #3 in Hiram, GA on Saturday, February 19th, 2011. The first of many future appearances at the establishment, Birdies lived up to our expectations in every possible way. With friendly management, a helpful wait staff, delicious food, and a wonderful atmosphere, we quickly learned why Birdies has established a great reputation with Hiram locals.
In addition to having a great stage for music, the patrons were very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the musical selections and let loose on the dance floor as we progressed through our sets. Several of the Remedy faithful were in attendance and many indulged in a few items off the menu prior to the music getting underway. There were lots of compliments, not surprisingly, about the wings, but lots of additional comments on how great the food and service was throughout the evening.
We felt very welcome from the moment we walked in the door and our friends and family routinely commented on the outstanding service they enjoyed all night long. We’re looking forward to returning in the coming months and hope to establish a long relationship with Sandy and the friendly folks at Birdies!

Remedy – On The Air
Remedy had the opportunity to perform live on 92.5 ‘The Bear’ on Wednesday, October 20, 2010!
As part of a promotional appearance to highlight our upcoming performance at the ‘Great Chili Challenge,’ we had the pleasure of spending some studio time with radio personalities Uncle Rich, Wanda Woodard, and Chip Griffies of 92.5 ‘The Bear.’ In addition to chatting about the planned festivities at this year’s Chili Challenge, we were asked to bring along some musical ‘bear’ essentials (sorry, couldn’t resist the pun) to play some live music, including an acoustic guitar, some shakers, and of course, our voices!
Despite a GPS system, three cell phones, and two navigators who are intimately familiar with Georgia’s back roads, we nearly missed our 9 PM casting call but did manage to make it in time for the first segment. We opened the show with a quick interview, introducing the band and talking a bit about the upcoming Chili Challenge.

After a short commercial break, we had the chance to break out the instruments and play an acoustic version of Soulshine, an Allman Brothers classic typically played on an electric guitar. Tim did a fantastic job coming up with a soulful arrangement and we were quite pleased with the end result!

We rounded out our hour long visit by playing a song by the Marshall Tucker Band entitled, “Can’t You See.” The song required some harmonies and backup vocals and Tim did an outstanding job adding vocals throughout the tune. Andy Buchanan also contributed greatly by adding some subtle percussion via a pair of shakers.

We had a fantastic time and truly appreciate the opportunity to showcase our music, as well as the upcoming charity event for this weekend. A sincere note of thanks to Uncle Rich of 92.5 ‘The Bear’ for inviting us down to perform! It was a very memorable experience for us!
The Great Chili Challenge
Start the Halloween festivities early this year and join the Remedy Band at the “Great Chili Challenge” in support of Peachtree City’s, Line Creek Civitan Club on October 23srd at Shakerag Knoll, beginning at 11 AM. In addition to live music from Remedy, the event will feature a costume contest, rides, games, prizes, giveaways, dance exhibitions, and lots of great chili to sample from some of the best chili makers in the local area.
The Line Creek Civitan Club is devoted to supporting local charities and, through Civitan International, to improving the lives of children and adults with developmental disabilities. This focus began in the 1950s when Civitan funded some of the first special education training for school teachers. That commitment continues today through local and international efforts such as summer camps, vocational programs, Special Olympic Games and cutting-edge research into Autism, Cerebral Palsy and Alzheimers at the Civitan International Research Center.
Programs and organizations supported by Civitans in Peachtree City and our surrounding communities include the Sams School, the American Cancer Society’s ‘Relay for Life,’ Special Olympics, Special People of Fayette County, DART (Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation for Teens), Christian City, Southwest Christian Care, and the Civitan International Research Center which brings together top scientific minds, and the latest technology, to create innovative therapies and treatments for people with developmental disabilities.
Proceeds from this event will be donated to charity and Remedy is thrilled to be able to participate in kind to support these wonderful causes.
